Just a possibility, but her last surgery may not have been covered by insurance. That might have been considered elective and cosmetic surgery.. She may have been on a payment plan to cover those surgery costs.

Some insurance companies are pretty conservative about picking up the tab to new trends in medicine. I don't have any clue whether this is the case with Allison or not... Most health coverages don't pick up the full tab... I've been under the care of doctors this past year.. and copays alone have probably totaled over $1,000... 2 major surgeries, chemo and other misc meds and procedures... I imagine could have added up to a quarter to a half million bucks or more.. So if she only was $48K in debt.. she might consider herself lucky.

I think the reasons for her debt could be multi faceted. Who among us wouldn't do things differently with hindsight being 20/20... ? She isn't the first person to claim bankruptcy nor will she be the last.

I sincerely don't think this blog is from the person we know as Allison. I think some of that blog was written in 2004 when Allison Stanley must have been going through a good chunk of her initial chemo and surgery... She showed up in the SO2 House in the fall of 2004...

I don't think her state of mind that year would have even toyed with some of the topics in the blog that you posted. It just seems to out of character for her... and I'd be willing to bet that it isn't her and possibly someone else by the same name.

I'll look again.. But I just don't see it being her.

up are of Allison before she bleached her hair and plucked her brows and under them it says "Isolation has its advantages". That would mean the msstanley blog is her.
BTW, the musician in Chicago is her also. She has played percussion and clarinet with a group called "The Silver Measure Trio" for about 7 years before she came to "starting over house". It is an improvisational music group.

I had forgotten! That was one of those moments of superiority Allison demonstrated. Ya woulda thought Miss Jill had posed for playboy the way Allison talked about Jill not having health insurance---like it was shocking and just not done.

And your right about the debts. I told ya I taped the shows and fast forward through as much of allison as I can. I didn't think that budget bit was going to be important, I just Ass-u-me-d.

You are right about one thing... People see what they want to see..

Someone found a picture last year on the old SO boards (the one pushed by the show!)... It was a very active board! There was a person who did resemble Allison but that was about it... She was out of England or Australia... I don't remember which.. It was a much larger picture than what you describe.. I don't see any picts with the link you provided to see if it is the same person.

I sincerely do not think it is her.. I do see that there are a couple people who posted comments who also might have thought it was the SO Allison.

As for Allison Stanley the Percussionist..... Not sure whether it is a he or she... but the internet is chock full of references to this person.. Even to the point that it is clear the group is out of Chicago.. One article even mentioning the group originally from Michigan! The clarinetist and percussionist AS seems to compose music and is mentioned openly and often. But I've yet to find a picture of the person. The group you mentioned did have a website but is now disabled...

I did find this article and you can find dozens more about influences of this particular AS. The info about SO's Allison, has been more to do with with a some sort of vocal group. I know Bethany from SO2 mentioned in her site...Allison singing at her going away party.. (not aired) and that she had a beautiful voice and it seems to me that it was mentioned that she sang operatic style.. Since SO's Allison is from NC... I'd venture to guess that it is probably not the same Allison Stanley.

If you do a search on Alison Stanley (One L) you'll get a fleet of hits too! I found dozens between the 2 spellings and many men named stanley Allison.

To me the biggest reason to come to the conclusion that the blog you found was not the SO's Allison, is it is to contradictory of the views of the SO Allison. SO Allison was more of a southern belle with traditional views of relationships and over focused on wanting a 'boo' (as Iyanla called it)... The Allison you mentioned seems to hate men..and had more of a rough edge to her personality.

I can't imagine that Allison fighting for her life in 2004 and probably sicker than a dog... from chemo.. would take the time to elaborately go on those type tirades that are in her blog especially not even mentioning the cancer.. The Allison that wrote those, probably was a non conformist...

It just doesn't fit... Not in my mind anyway!

Also looking throught that wierd blog..I saw a mention of Wisconsin or Michigan which happens to be the same area the clarinetist and percussionist is from. I think it's within the realm of possibility that those 2 people are linked... but not to the SO's Allison..

Seems like that blogger and musician both don't like having their picture out there. Maybe that is why they closed their flicker account.

The Allison Stanley that is the midwest musician also plays drums for many of their gigs.. Can you see SO2/SO3 Allison on the drums?
