I felt quite worried about her, she seemed to have "aged" if that isn't too strange a thing to say about a young woman! She looked very tired and strained to me. I think she probably does not want to do ...anything...the way her mother did, and is wearing herself out in the process.
I hope she can learn to trust others to care for Chloe once in a while, but joining a young mother's group might enable her to have some adult conversation while the children play nearby. It doesn't always have to be a "night out on the town!"
I agree with you about Josie. I too thought she looked unwell. She appeared tired, frustrated and very stressed out. What was so disappointing is that she didn't seem to be open to the advice she was given. I think she still believes she the only person who can truly take care of Chloe's needs. Some mothers seem to believe playing the martyr for the sake of their children is somehow a positve thing. They miss all the reasons that it is not a good idea. They don't understand that much of that is about the parent and what they want, not about the real needs
of the child.
I can't remember, but, who cares for Chloe when Josie is at work?
Can't recall what Josie said re babysitting for her, but I'm not sure that it's martyrdom with her...I may have said this before, but I think she has fallen into the trap of wanting to raise Chloe "the exact opposite" of how she herself was raised. The trouble with trying to change is that you don't ...know...any other way, so opposite seems like a good choice! I know I harp on it a bit, but the middle ground is what to aim for! If Josie feels that her own mother was ..never there...of course she would think that ...always being there...for Chloe is the "right" way.
Having said that, specific to Josie...I know what you mean re "martyr moms"....the child can end up feeling smothered, and rebel, big time!! But...that's my "take" re Josie...coming from a good place...no map. She just doesn't want Chloe to hurt the way she does.

Just another angle too... If I recall right, she had been molested when she was growing up... (Can anyone verify that?)
Part of her might be fearful of leaving Chloe in the care of others for this reason as well.
I do agree with Ceilidh that sometimes mothers can be so overprotective that they become overbearing mothers.. and do more harm than good.
I thought she allowed her mother to watch Chloe as she was at one point living with her. Not sure what her current status is.. I think she kept in touch with Haley from SO1.. Sometimes you can pick up tidbits from Lynell and Haley's site... thelchain.com I haven't checked it in awhile. Seems a good time to do so... Everything else seems to be slow!

Just checked the Lchain site...and a few updates there. Some picts taken of Chloe probably around the time she visited California earlier in the season. I think that is where I got the info that Josie was working as an aid to a couple people and not working at a bar. Apparently she's helping a woman who has MS and a gentleman who has MD. I could guess that this would be more general type assisting rather than nursing type care. Maybe depending on her responsibilities she is able to bring Chloe with her. I know for me, that would get old real quick.. but depending on the situation, it might be feasible... especially if you have no other options.

Yes, the job info was there, interspersed among the photographs.
CUTE, cute shots of l'il Chloe!
I never saw Lynell and Hailey on the show, but caught them on a return visit. They seem to be in touch with quite a few of the old HGs...enjoyed seeing all the young ones having fun!

I got the impression, from Josie's brief stay in SOH3, that her mother watched Chloe during the day, while she worked. And, after watching Chloe all day, didn't feel like watching her at night, too, while Josie went out. If that's the case, IMO. Josie should spend her evenings taking care of Chloe. Or, get a sitter one or two evenings a week.
