Well, the line has gone through a lot of changes since the bankrupsy of Revlon. I worked as an Account Executive for the Borghese line for several years. It truly breaks my heart to see what has come of it.....in Cosco!! Yikes. All I can say is poor management at the top!
I had the opportunity to meet the Princess a few times, at the time that I met her she was in her late 80's and then 90's. Her son, I believe her eldest son, Franceco, was about 15 years my senior. come to think of it, Lorenzo could very well be, her Great Grandson! The Borghese family still remains Italian "Royalty", yet, they hold no office, nor government privalege any longer.
Yes, that's fairly common in old European royal families. Still earns them social privileges though...and the respect of "history." I knew a Polish count once who "lived off the generosity of friends."
In other words, he was a great dinner guest, with lots of stories!
(Not at my house...usually ran into him at an art supply store!)
