I agree Lauren. I hope the show continues to do well. I think the scandal gave the show a little bump up in the ratings, but they must sustain it. They are banking on Rosie to help them out when she comes aboard.
I think that Elisabeth will look back on her behavior in 10 years and be mortified. Most mature people know that you can't make broad statements about what others will or will not do. She is very adamant that her husband has not and will not ever cheat on her. I think we saw Kathie Lee suffer the humilation in a public way when her beloved husband was caught cheating redhanded. ( I felt for her and really liked Kathie Lee) When you build yourself up to be above reproach, and then you or your spouse falls, it can be devastating, especially if you must face the public on your job everyday.
That's why I am so surprised that Elisabeth continues her rantings. Why doesn't her mother or friend sit her down and give her some words of wisdom, such as "Calm yourself down. What would you tell the public if your husband suddenly leaves you for another woman who he first saw modeling in the nude?(She also claims he doesn't look at photos of any nude women)
She apparently has never had to eat crow.
Although she is the president of the George Bush fan club, she does not espouse the supposed Republican belief that less government is better. Elisabeth is in favor of the federal governement banning or regulating almost everything. The is what the Democrats are typically accused of doing. She believes the entire country should be tightly controlled to ensure they do things the way she does them, which is the right way. I guess it's just inmaturity that makes her that way. The truth is, I liked her when she was on Survivor.
I still like Barbara, but, didn't you think it was odd the way she tried to get Al Roker's wife to discuss their sex life or in the alternative, to diss him as a wuss?(sp) It was entertaining, but if I were Al, I wouldn't be too happy with what was said.
