At the risk of being booed....I was never a fan of The View. I absolutely hated Joy Behar (sp??). As for Star...from the beginning I thought she was a diva (fat or not). I guess now she's a thin diva. Never crazy about her either. The only one I liked was Meredith but I really didn't watch the show at all, just skipped by it as soon as I could.

No boos here... Understand.. The personality variety had to be something people either liked or hated. Myself.. nothing much else was on at that time.. and I did like Meredith and Elisabeth.. and up until recently, Barbara was on once or twice a week..

I'd watch depending if they had an interesting guest or not..

Meredith really was great as team captain. I just don't think it will ever be the same once she leaves.

I only started catching the show occasionally at times once Elisabeth joined the panel. Definitely not a diehard fan of the show.. bits and pieces here and there.. As you can tell, I missed the fanfare on Tuesday and top of Wed. show.. I went to lunch today and of course missed it.

I'm just interested in how this public bruhaha went down with such professional and supposedly dignified women. Maybe this is a mountain being made out of a molehill and it's a battle of the 'egos'.

Whew!!! I'm glad the Larry King show went so well. Star was great. Now I know why over the last couple of months Star has not been herself. I thought she was acting odd. She knew she had been let go and had to act as if everything was the same. That must have been tough on her. Looking back, I guess I was too tough on her. I didn't know what she was dealing with. I hope those marital problem rumors are untrue. How painful it would be should that rumor be true???

IMO Star came out on top last night. (She was also on The Today Show this morning) She showed class and integrity despite everything that happened.

Even if we take the version of events from ABC, The View and Barbara, they all still come out looking bad. They admit they expected Star to leave the show with the appearance that it was her own decision and not that she was let go by virture of them not renewing her contract. They call that sham, "Star leaving with dignity." In actuality, it was Star leaving in a way that didn't make The View look bad that was the goal of Barbara and ABC. I suspect that's why Star said farewell on Tuesday. She didn't want to sit on the the show on Thursday and hear all the fake praise and misrepresentation of why she was leaving. ABC wanted a cover up of why Star was going her separate way. I just don't think Star was required to go along with that cover up.

Is the fact that Star told the truth a betrayal? I don't think so.
If Star had gone along with the lie, you know it would have been leaked sooner or later, and then it would look like Star lied about why she left. And of course then the network would look fine, they could blame Star for hiding the real reason she left. It seems to me Star had no real choice to do anything but what she did.

Star said this moring that Elisabeth had called her and she really appreciated her support. Elisabeth and Joy better take notes. If that show pulled this stuff once, they will do it again. I wonder if the remaining ladies may be thinking that it's time to move on. I don't think I would ever feel secure in their postions after seeing this fallout.

I really like Rosie, so I'll be glad when she gets to The View. I give her and Barbara 2 months before they run head on into a major fight and it hits the fan. Just my prediction.

I can really see both sides...but also with Star really putting her spin control on things..

I had a different take on last nights show. I would have liked to see what she said on this mornings show.

I'm glad that Elisabeth called her. They (Joy and Elisabeth) should not have to be put in the middle of anything. This was a big unfortunate and needless mess.

I do see Star's point in some things.. but she is enjoying playing the victim a little too much.

She apparently said she was already working on another tv project... All this publicity will help and not hurt that...

I am beginning not to like Elisabeth, either. She is very opinionated, and almost rude. Did any one see yesterday how she "attacked" the guest host for not being married after being together with her boyfriend for 15 years. I know the show is THE VIEW and that is what drives the show...the differing views of the hosts, but....well, just my opinion(my VIEW as it were!)

the guest host..I forgot to mention...was Kelly Monaco from Dancing with the Stars, and General Hospital.
