You all are so sweet... you are making me cry. Thank you for your kind words, and prayers. I'm feeling the hugs through cyber space... I can never have too many friends, or cyber goil friends. LOL

I just spoke to my sister... her mood changes from minute to minute. The reality is setting in that she may have cancer. Her daughter-in-law is a nurse and is pushing low dose zanax four times a day plus a sleeping pill at night. My sister is sleeping a lot, and the first thought that pops into her head when she wakes up is "I have cancer." My heart is breaking as I'm trying so hard to be positive. She is so scared. The next couple of days are the continuation of this nightmare. She's expecting test results Tuesday or Wednesday.

I know families go through this every day... I guess I'm going to have to dig deep to find the strength to get through this... my fear is my sister may not have the strength. I want so badly to "fix" her, and I can't. I love her so much.

Mazzy;
Now is the time for you to be as strong and positive as you can possibly be for your sister. She needs you! Cancer is not, repeating, NOT, a death sentence anymore. So many new things have been developed and research has come a long, long, way. Beleive me honey, i know!! A couple years ago i was diagnosied with bladder cancer. I had part of my bladder taken out, and went through 21 chemotheraphy treatments, and many other things. I now wear a foley bag, and probably always will, but hey, i didn't die! It sure is no fun to go through,. but remember, God doesn't give you nothing you can't handle. Sometimes it seems like you can't live through another day, but you do. You wake up and think ok, this is the day that the Lord has given me, and i will make the most of it!! I will do what i have to do, and be glad i have the strength to do it!! It works, and when you aren't strong enough, He will send a sister to help you, that is where you come in!! She needs to think positive thoughts and be around positive people. That will help you both get through this. and you will. Just know that no matter what happens, God has control and he loves us all, and it sure helps a lot to have that assurance when you go through things like this. May you put your trust and life in Gods hands, and it will all work out, according to His plan. Have faith Mazzy! Be strong for your sister!! She will be strong for you too.

Honeyb, thank you for this post... it's just what I needed.

I saw my sister today, I was up... I was positive... I was an actress, she was down... she was negative... she seems weaker because of her attitude.

We talked about God and prayer, and I reminded her that He never let her down. She kept asking me "why," and I just hugged her... I didn't know what to say.

Honeyb, thank you again.

mazzy--
God Bless you and your sister and your whole family.

Isn't it amazing how our grandparents used to say the weirdest things at the time and then we get them later in life.

Blessings with you!

Mazzy,

Some other things you can do to help support your sister... Is to be her advocate... Find out the latest about treatments... Tap into your resources. Ovarian cancer is among the most serious types of cancer one can get...but they are making huge strides...

One thing they'll determine if she does have the cancer... they'll be able to determine how far along it is... I know of people who were diagnosed with stage 3 cancers who've battled back!

See if you can find a good book or other resource that will encourage your sister. I think there is a natural process of grieving then, accepting the diagnosis...and then battling it!

I am sure her doctors may be able to direct her / you to a wealth of resources.

I have a friend who is doing well on a special diet... I don't know if it's a macrobiotic one or not... but I know she doesn't eat sweets and carefully watches the things she does eat...

Knowledge is power! Are yourself and her with as much as you can gather!

We'll all be holding you up in prayer.
