Just did a yahoo search...

Here is a link... The inital search looked like some mention of todays date... But maybe because of basketball playoff or whatever else... a decision was made to move it.

I am sure it is a taped event anyway... I'll check the site more..
It sounds like a decision was made to move it maybe even before the president's speech. ABC could have always delayed the start of it to broadcase it in full. I highly doubt that the Presidents speech will be lengthy.. It isn't a state of the union address.

In any case... I thought I saw, and now see it on the site as well that the 22nd is at least the current date.

I just looked at the website and read it more thoroughly..

The 25 women honored are listed.. At least 2 honorees have sinced passed away... Coretta Scott King and Rosa Parks... I do not see Iyanla mentioned in the honorees. Maybe she was an organizer or presenter..

It is an event that was actually held last year and I suppose edited for a tv broadcast WAY after the fact! I thought maybe that this was a separate and new event and the website I found was from last year. But that can't be right either...because last year the 22nd of May wouldn't have fallen on a Monday..

Correction on the Oprah special: As you probably know if you saw the show, it wasn't our Iyanla who was a guest, it was YOLANDA Adams. I must have misunderstood Oprah's pronunciation.

Anyway, I'm glad I caught it. It was really inspiring. I just have a question. What criteria was used in the guest list for the Ball? Tom Crews, John Travolta, Dianne Sawyer? I know she is friends with Tom and John and Dianne Sawyer is married to some Entertainmemnt Producer, but not sure of the connection.

Debby,

I agree...............it was very moving and inspirational!!!

I think the gala ball that included 400 people were just to invite a big, ole heapload of celebrities!! Just big names. I remember Gayle saying that people kept calling last minute about cancelling/attending. I think Oprah just wanted the ball to really be a huge bash and show the Legends just how much they've meant to everyone!!

The brunch was the personal and moving part...for me!! That poem was beautiful! Do you know if it's posted anywhere??
