In essence to help us get a little of that from him, knowing we will never have that and can't go backwards (whew!!! do NOT wanna do that!!!!). That's what I was trying to say.

And yes...............we all are attracted to so many different types that it's really hard to put him in just a father category.......many here have posted that they thought he was quite handsome and I believe them. And many just see him as a surrogate father!

I can see where he is represented as a father figure to someone like Kim... in fact when he was speaking I noticed how emotional she was.

And, I can see where he would be an excellent husband figure.

He was the perfect father figure for Kim who needed a kind and sensitive male role model.

I know this thread was originally begun as a result of Christy's graduation, but in light of yesterday's final episode... I think it has to be reiterated... What an incredible person he is... !!! I think he sure could be a role model for the husbands and sons of the women fans of the show. Many have mentioned their spouses watching along with them and getting hooked on the show. I wonder what some of the men think... ? Dr. Stan seems to be the epitome of a professional, friend, confidante, encourager, and no doubt is a wonderful father and husband... He no doubt is devoted very much to his family and he lovingly makes mention of them whenever possible.

Kim isn't the only one this year who had a father issue.. and so he was able to fill a fatherly role to many of the women both this year and last. I think Kim touched him in a way though because he knew the depth of her issues... and as a father probably could not grasp how any father could abuse their child and inflict the trauma that had so deeply affected her. They probably didn't help her as much as they had hoped but hopefully they got her on the right path. SO was not the venue for her...

I remember him embracing Jennifer last year as a dad would a daughter too. Jodi also needed that father figure.. Cassie and Allison both had alcoholic and abusive fathers and Denise's father was verbally abusive and I believe he was an alcoholic as well. (not sure about the last part... Mind going due to mid life crisis!).. (LOL!)

But when he got emotional when speaking to all the women... Ya just wanted to hug him and let him know how much he is appreciated. Not too many men, will admit their own vulnerabilities... Showing emotion is usually a taboo thing! I'm glad that he isn't into taboo's! It's really quite endearing.... I wish my own special man would do it more often....

I can just imagine him being the World's best dad... If he can listen to strange women with alot of baggage and self esteem issues and have compassion and offer sound advice for them... How much more does he probably do it for his own. I think he's a steady as he goes kind of guy....

I will miss him... But hope that someone recognized his special gift and recruit him to fill some similar role on another reality women's show, a talk show or that he turns out a couple more books.

Dr. Stan if you ever read this... Suffice it to say... You are greatly admired for your dedication and professionalism and most especially your compassion and sensitivity to the many women who moved through the doors at the SO houses of season 2 and 3. I'm sure countless women at home were encouraged through your various counseling sessions with the women too.

Thanks...and God bless you for a job well done.

KPW, wow!!! Well said. I don't think I can add anything to that wonderful tribute.

Do you remember the episode in which he had two of his daugters in the house for an interview. I didn't keep it on tape, but wish I had. I think it was last season. I may try to download it from the website that is now advertising on this board. Has anyone done that yet and how much does it cost?

Debby, I totally forgot about 2 of his daughters coming onto the show... I forgot what and who them came for...

Was it regarding Jennifer and her sister? Seemed like it was later in the season. It's going to bother me until I recall or am reminded of which hg was involved.

Do you recall whether it had to do with 'sisters' or 'fathers'?

Anybody else's memory NOT going through 'mental pauses'? I'd appreciate the brain booster!
