Re:Another bad makeover 2 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 1
I'm one of the few people around who really like curly hair. I like the long ringlets like Jodi and Josie have. It has a sort of Bohemian
look that appeals to me. Of course, my hair is completely straight. I used to get perms a long time ago. I paid big bucks to get curls like Jodi and Josie. When I went straight, people would stop me and ask, how I got my hair so straight. They couldn't believe that I didn't do much of anything. It is tooooo much work to fight the natural wave or lack thereof in your hair.

Count me in, Debby! Looove the curls! My hair is as straight as it comes and I too used to pay big bucks for perms...mostly for the body. At a "certain age" ...chose color over body, and can't do a darn thing with it now!! I'm not even sure that it's really hair now! And my eyebrows are picking up CNN too (to steal a line from Joy Behar)!

Me too Ceildh! I adore being blonde. I have to pick that over the curls. I can get a little flip on the ends but it won't stay long, especially in these humid, hot, hot, NC summer days. I just went to my car to get something out and spent a minute or two looking for it, when I walked back into my office, I looked like I had walked through the rain forest. It's not even noon yet.

LOL! Debby, were we twins in a former life?
I too can get the flip-on-the-ends-that-doesn't-last!! My hair used to take curl well, can't figure out what happened!
Now, I just beg it to "do something"...but it's not listening!!
Sometimes I can't even get out of the bathroom before it droops!!

With this summer humidity, which is also bad in the winter in the south, hairstyles are difficult. We can have a humid day of 75 degrees in the middle of December here.

I have found the best hair products by Catwalk. Their shampoo and conditioner called Sexed Up is the best. It is good for color treated, thin and straight hair. Their hairspray is good too. Some hold, but you can still comb through it and it doesn't look stiff.

The right cut on the ends helps with the flip too. I get long layers and that seems to help.
