Starting Over Talk

Lisa found her voice on SO. She may be trying to push Tony to make changes that he is not ready/willing to make. A good relationship has two healthy people in it. He may be old fashioned and not appreciate having his "dirty laundry" aired on TV. His ego may not allow him to see the positive changes in Lisa.

I like "Mickey Mouse" happy endings -- so I'm sorry to hear this. If this ending should change, and they do live happily ever after, please post ASAP. LOL

I agree Mazzy. I was really hoping this was going to have a happy ending.

I think she graduated in Late November or possibly early December which means almost 4 or 5 months have passed. Clearly enough time to get in that marital counseling should Tony choose to do that... Maybe it is just a case that they've grown apart... and the writing really had been on the wall for many years before. We never really heard it addressed as to whether he had been having other affairs.. since the first one. Maybe he never left her because of how dependent she was... and he thought she'd really go berzerk if the marriage broke up.

I'm really sad to hear that if the rumor is true. But hopefully SO really gave her a chance to build her self esteem.

Since it is only a few months... They can always consider this just a trial separation while they go through counseling...

I really hoped we were going to have a storybook ending. There is a rumor that alot of the hg's are invited back at the end of the season. It sure would be nice to have updates.

I checked Lisa's website yesterday (myspace acct.) and it didn't indicate anything different.. But that she still seems to be very glad that she did do the SO experience. I was looking for any signs of trouble. Not that she'd be mourning or gloating about a possible divorce but any subtle sign.

I'd be interested in hearing her feelings on what's transpired since she left the SO house.

Does the poster 'SR80634' know whether Lisa is holding up ok...?

As unfortunate as a divorce is, it's even more unfortunate if Lisa and her husband stayed together for that many years leading separate lives and long past any real connection to each other. I know it's not a "happy" ending if the runor is true, but it doesn't have to be a sad ending for Lisa either. It may be a beginning for her. My guess is that if they had not been intimate in two years, as she said, then the intimacy on every level was rare well before that. Why should anyone live that way, like two ghosts trapped in the same house? Lisa's not dead yet. He is one man in the world. There are others. Letting go of an illusion can be sad at first, but eventually, liberating.

It's a very old notion that a divorce is so horrible. Sometimes it's the best thing for a couple stuck in different directions with different goals, etc...

Even when there are kids, divorce is far better than living with parents who are fighting, passive or extremely unhappy...
