I'm wondering if she is able to get in touch with her son by the information she gave to the state where the adoption took place--remember that adoption attorney that Cassie spoke with that told her the state would set everything up for her if the son wanted to get in touch too?? Then she filled out all the necessary paperwork, so hopefully this is how they are able to find each other?! Here's hoping for a wonerful meeting, and a lifetime of love for them here on out!!

LadyBird,

I'm an adopted child. The thing Cassie registered with is called an adoption registry. This only works if both parties involved in the adoption register. (Some states also allow birth siblings to register.) If all the parties are not registered the only thing the adoptive child can get is what is called Non-Identifying information.

For example - some of the Non-ID info I got.....

Both parents came from middle class families.

Mother - 18, dropped out of highschool, unemployed (but listed her occupation as a student) 5'6". Started receiving prenatal care 6th month of pregnancy.

Father - 26, Employed as a construction worker and attendant at a gas station, 2 children from previous marriage.

In the state I live in, they only give the information that was provided @ the time of the adoption.

Now I'm not quite sure what stuff they would send Cassie unless it was non-ID info on the adoptive family.

I really hope that Cassie and her son finally meet at some point in time. That being said, we only have one side of the story regarding the adoptive mother. It may have freaked her out that a TV show wanted to make public something she felt should be private. I always felt that Cassie was encouraged to do what could be borderline stalking when she was in the house last year. Something may have happened between the adoptive mother and Cassie that made her cut off contact. Maybe the adoptive mother didnt think her son was emotionally ready for the meeting. Maybe she is psycho. We dont know her side of the story.

AMANFOSTER:
Thanks. I just hope in any case, for the sake of both Cassie and her son, that they are able to finally meet. I also hope now that her son is of legal age, he can make up his own mind (if he does in fact even know the truth about his adoption). My wishes and luck go out to the both of them.

That adoption registery sounds like a good thing too.
