I wonder why they decided to get rid of the booze NOW? I mean there have been problems with alcohol/drug use in the house a few times, Karen (SO2) carted away by ambulance was hiding both.. Allison made it very clear and vocalized she was drinking (although I believe that was a ploy to draw attention in order to stay in the house longer and it didn't work, I don't think she was really an alcoholic although some may disagree), now Kim just to name a few.
I personally think that alcohol shouldn't be a part of a place of healing. Simply because there should be no crutches, you should maintain a clear head and focus at all times, it's an opportunity most don't get so take advantage of every minute.. you can bond without it more sincerely, you can contemplate where you are and where you're going at the end of the day instead of blanking the mind.. there are so many reasons not to mention a safe haven for those around you that either have a problem or have had a problem with someone in their life that was a drinker and they aren't comfortable being around it and it should be a place where no one is compromising their process or anyone else's for the few months they are there. It's not a necessity and for some it's only a detriment.
I don't know how often Kim is drinking or for what reasons but I guess we'll soon find out more about that. If it's true her husband has a problem then we find out she really does.. poor Jax.. not much stability for that little boy it seems. Time to get a handle on things now for his sake. So although it took them long enough to decide there shouldn't be alcohol.. I'm glad it's finally being addressed, even if it is toward the end of the last season lol It just surprised me especially since Rhonda herself knows the ramifications of abuse of it and that there are those in the house that have a tendency to do so.
