Lots of people, and women in particular, have a nervous laugh...I think most people understand that, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. You are right on the money about laughing at so called "inappropriate" moments...it's anxiety, pure and simple.
I knew an entire family who used laughter as a coping tool, in the worst situations...did not "get it" then, but understand now.
Different strokes for different folks...that's all!
