I need to lose about 20 pounds. I've been walking regularly, but it doesn't seem to help me lose weight. Does anyone have an opinion about CURVES? Namely, is it worth the money and does it work? Thanks.

Curves is definately a wonderful place to start your work-out routine. I have been an active member for the last year and a bit and have seen some great results not only for me but many others as well. If you aren't currently excersing then you will find it to be challenging but in time it will get easier. My only caution is that people who are already active often level out after a few months and stop seeing results. I guess it all comes down to your current fitness level and goals.
You can go in and meet with one of the staff and ask for a free trial to see if this is right for you.
Good Luck,
Bella

I agree with Bella..............it IS wonderful.......but not for everyone!!
I'd definitely go in and give the free trial and consultation a whirl!! Curves is especially wonderful (and therefore attracts) many who really can't do as physical or diverse movements and classes as those who are better fit!
But the atmosphere is a huge part of the experience also, so for many of us big gals it's not an intimidating and judgemental place......so we'll actually come back!!!!

I can relate, Tara. I've been missing my workouts for the whole summer with my intense knee and heel pain. I know it's a never-ending cycle............I need to lose so much weight to help with the pain, but it hurts so incredibly to work out. I do think I'm going to have to take a hiatus and find a different way to get some pain relief before I can start back again. But the encouragement of staff and the regulars at my Curves really is wonderful!!!

CURVES is awesome. It is so wonderful that this Friday will be my 200th workout. I hate to exercise, but since I have started at Curves, I have also begun walking. Go and check it out! Have fun exercising.
