Let me be clear--are you saying that we should not take the things that are said and done on SO seriously?

So you think that those in the cast--both HGs and coaches--are acting?

Wow, and I thought that they came to the SO house to change their real lives. Is their whole story made up? Just their reactions to the exercises and the other HGs? What they do after? What parts aren't serious or real?

It may be that some of the HGs can't take advantage of the opportunities for growth because they can't stop their hustle--of themselves--long enough to see how they are squandering the time that they have TO BE FUNNY or some other stupid motive to be cool.

Crone, I'm not sure about the gist of your statement. My thinking is that Lisa herself sabotaged herself... or was there for the wrong motives in the first place. In my mind she put forth very superficial effort... Not sure if you saw the beginning of the season and some of Lisa'a antics...especially when given an assignment where she had to make some jewelry to sell. She was nasty to her housemates and several of them helped her anyway...

I don't fault SO on the fact that she slipped in to make a mockery of the process. They may really have believed she was sincere. Maybe she was.... But they edited it to the point that it was hard to find any sincerity emanating from Lisa in anything... At least we can be pretty confident that she sincerely DIDN't want to work! She even said as much on several occasions!

No, no.. I was responding to the person who said, very condecendingly, that we should not take the show so sersiously.

I do take it seriously and try to apply what I see to my own life. I certainly do not blame SO. That was a mistake that I saw after I posted it. The "SO" in the last line did not refer to the Starting Over House, but just an imphatic "so".

Sometimes it's hard to figure who someone is replying to if the posts are out of sequence. You can try using the quote button so that it might be more clear to the rest of us.

BTW, I agree with you! I think there are lessons to be learned from all the ladies.

Since you know Lisa, I'd love to hear your opinion on whether most of Lisa's tears in the S/O house were genuine. Thanks & I understand if you don't want to respond to that.

Hello message people, Looks like I started a frenzy! I see on another board that people think I'm a man from New York. Where that came from I have no idea!

I was not invited to Lisa's dinner party, as I only see her once a year at an annual party that I throw. I've got a family which does not give me much time to play on South Beach. I would probably be first on the her list for a tupperware party! The boat show was a one time event/job. I think part of Lisa's tears were real...and part what she felt they wanted from her. Lisa has had a lot of unique and unusual experiences in her life, and I believe that part of her was hoping for more, and part hoping for a change. I don't believe that she ever planned to go to SO and not give it a try.
