Thank you all!! We saw him last night and although he was doped up for the pain, he woke up enough to smile and say hi!!! He has a few more surgeries over the next month or so, but looks like he will spend Christmas with family before he has to start intensive therapy. The very frustrating thing was that the drunk driver had posted bond and was already out (drinking again says my hubby). Don't know why we can't seem to tackle this issue effectively?? Anyway, thank you for the prayers.....the docs say his youth and strength will be a huge factor in his recovery!!!

Oh wow, thinking of you! I hope he recovers quickly. My hubby is a firefighter, EMT, Rescue, and tells me all kinds of horror stories. They never get any easier to hear. I hope this drunk driver gets what he deserves.

I am so sorry this has happened to your nephew.
It is wonderful he will be home with the family for Christmas. I will keep him in my prayers for continued healing and for justice for him.
