Starting Over Talk - Peer Coaching Support Site

I try to have fun and post a game. Yet someone puts a lock on it, so no one can play it. I talk to women in the chatroom and when they find out i am 16 years old and male they all of a sudden have to go. Can't a guy like starting over?! I get messages from the moderators telling me i have to change my signature cuz it's too long. There i shortened it how's that? Are you women really this shallow??? There are a quite a few great women who accept me, but for the most part.... no one here does. So please don't just read this and not reply. I need to know why you all are the way you are??

hmmm.... I personally have nothing against you being here and enjoying the conversations and learning about what makes a woman tick... it's an age old question that many men has had tried to figure out on thier own. Learning some of this stuff may help you with deal with future female co-workers, any sisters you may have. Also it may help you deal better with a wife and help any daughters deal with life in a healthy way (if that is what you want and in your future.)

I will say what makes me a little cautious is your age. You are still considered a minor and still under your parents guidance. I simply would not want to directly discuss a subject matter they are against and cause you to be in a situation with them. I'd still respond and convey my feelings on the board but one on one conversations would simply be based on subject matter - if it's something I wouldn't talk to my neice or nephews about then I won't with you. I do appreciate you being honest with your age and gender. Nothing worse than being sneaky about that.

There may be some women that are uncomfortable about some subject matter in front of the eyes and ears of males and some may be cautious with your age or the combination. It may be nothing personal. So don't worry about the ones that don't speak up or respond. If the admin have a problem with you then they should speak up and talk to you personally about it.

And as the Life Coaches would say... If someone has a problem with you and don't discuss it or let you know... that is thier problem.

In agreement with TigerRose here. I have spoken to you in chat...though it's been a while. I don't go there often. I have a daughter older than you and a son and another daughter younger. As a mom, I'd be more sensitive to the subject matter in your presence but that's all.

Hi there! I agree with both TigerRose and Netty. Both my kids are just a bit younger.....but honestly, I commend you for even trying to understand others better and really working at busting that typical teenage "myth" about actions and thoughts. I have a 15 y.o. daughter is out of the norm with respect to maturity and insight and curiosity. I think it's wonderful!!

Now we won't presume any typical teen male stuff with you.....I've enjoyed reading your posts! But don't think all of us have the issues that you've had with some either!

But I have a suspicion that it's not meant personally pmpnjc16, there are so many mom's here and I think many of them may not even have teens yet and are just unsure. I don't think it's a matter of dislike......just questioning. And to those few who don't like you...............well, I have some that don't like me too............shocking I know!!

Personally, I think it is great that you watch the show - it will give you insight into human dynamics - especially from the female perspective. May help you along the journey in life when building relationship with women.

As far as you posting and getting no replies, etc. Oh, honey, don't worry about that - I have posted on message boards and been virtually ignored. In fact, the ladies here in the Book Section are really the first group that has been receptive to me. In fact, they are all exceptionally nice here.

Maybe, since you have been very upfront about your feelings and your age, you will find that other members will start to engage you in conversation and posts more.

But, do remember, you are much younger (at least than me!) and many of us have kids about your age, so we are aware of what we are saying. (Honestly, do you speak the same way to your parents that you do to your friends? I don't think so. We all tend to filter our thoughts depending on who we are with.)

Now - here is a perfect example of being in a group of older women (specifically this writer) - I am nosey. I want to know about the meaning of your screen name. Fair is fair - I will tell you mine - I love the moon - I think it is a great symbolization of life. Always changing.
