Hey all,
I had to change my user ID from 'MB' to 'piper'. I kept meaning to add to the intro list, and kept forgettting.
Anyway, my name is MaryBeth, 51, and I live in Southeast Kansas. I grew up in NJ, moved to Northern Calif. for twenty years, Sonoma county, wine country. The *real* wine country.
It's right next to Napa Co. I worked in restaurants for years, managing. Then transferred to the wine business, in 85 or so. LOVED it and really miss it!
I moved to Kansas with my ex when my knees went out. We found out I have a degenerative bone disease and I had to quit working. We couldn't afford to buy a home there, and my ex had family here. So....
After moving here, my own family moved out, from NJ, against my wishes, (as I knew I wasn't goin to stay here back then).
My then hub and I wound up splitting up in 96, and I met my current husband, David, whom I married in 97, moving back to NJ for his lucrative job. In Jan. 04, I moved back to Kansas, (trial separation), plus my mom has cancer, NHL, and I have been here since. Hub joined me within a year, and we bought a new home last August. <WHEW>
My 'family' includes hub and me, our three dogs, Rudy, 14, golden retriever, adopted at 8 weeks old, (the light of my entire life!!!) MissyBooBoo AKA Boo, 8, field bred lab gal, adopted at 14 weeks old, (the real clown doggie, she's a hoot...and knows it!!), and Zack, 9, our black mix, adopted at 2 years old from very abusive man, (very big and tough *looking*, but the sweetest timid teddybear!)
We adopted two kittens last summer, an Amer. Shorthair tortouise shell, Hannah, and my little munchkin, Maine Coon kittie, Piper, who forgot to grow into her size, but is fluffly as all get out!
(All of them from rescue or Humane Society, all adopted. Please support dog & cat rescue!!)
These are my 'children', tried for many years to have my own, but couldn't, so they have become 'it' for me.
Movies I like: Always, Shipping News, Don Juan DeMarco, Empire of the Sun and,.... oooh goodness.
Luckily, it's dark in here now, so I can't see to name them all. Heh. But many more...
Fave Season: I think this one.
Fave HG? Can't decide.....yet.
I started watching Season 1, skipped a lot of Season 2 now back to Season 3 since beginning of Jan, 06.
So that's it for now. I'll be known as 'piper' on the profile, from now on, just wanted to finally let ya know a bit about me.....

It's become like a little bit like a 'home' to me here, and I really enjoy 99% of the posters. I feel that we'd be friends, many of us, if we knew each other in real life. So a huge thanks to ya'll!!
