Starting Over Talk - Peer Coaching Support Site

hello everyone,

i just started watching Starting Over and am hooked! The first episode I watched was the day that Kim first moved into the house. There were two housemates in that episode that seem to have disappeared and I'm wondering what happened to them. One of them was named Christine, I think - she was the one who said she is working on becoming a "woman of honor." She used to be a stripper or something like that, and was working on getting her pictures pulled off of websites.

The other woman, I can't remember her name, was kind of heavy-set with short hair, and all I remember about her was that when Kim first moved in, she said something like "Kim seems like she has it a little bit too much together." I've watched every episode since that day, but those two women are no longer in the house. Did they graduate and we didn't see it? Does anyone know who I'm talking about?Any help would be appreciated, just curious!

Christina graduated and so did the other woman, her name was Alison. I started watching about a month before you.

I have no idea who these couples are, and I want to continue with this group of women. I hope we get to see the completion of their stories.

I haven't heard anything about Christina since she graduated. Until shortly before her gradaution was aired, she had a blog on www.myspace.com. She was plugging her upcoming book, "Running in High Heels", a "juicy" story about her past. I don't know why she pulled her blog. Maybe writing didn't turn out to be the "easy money" she'd hoped it would be.
Allison filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy on October 8th. And was scheduled as the keynote speaker at an ovarian cancer conference last month.

From what I heard Christina canceled her myspace site because alot of people were using it to send her nasty messages. Not a hard rumor to believe considering the abuse she took on the forums.

I don't know the facts regarding Christina's myspace account, but we manage a myspace account and separate website for a client from another Bunim Murray show and have personally seen the unbelievably veil things that some write to anyone who has appeared on TV. We are able to insulate our client from the invariable hate mail and jealous comments that arrive, while ensuring that genuine people are able to get their message through. Messages intentionally crafted to hurt often achieve their purpose. It is surprising that people who hide behind the anonymity of an obscure screen name believe the world owes them a platform and attention. Yes, we let the silly messages through, because we all need to laugh; but, the sexiest and racist ones fall quick victim to the delete button.

I’ve been telling reality show cast members for many years that they shouldn’t read what people say about them on the Internet unless they have thick skin and a good sense of self, because people really are writing about a character that is not totally themselves, but the product of their own words and actions, as manipulated for many reasons by editors, and producers.

DaveG, now you've really piqued my curiosity! Could you indulge us (ok me) and expound on this manipulation by editors and producers since these shows are supposed to be REALITY. How much of a show like SO is in fact scripted?
