I'm third generation so I'm pretty Americanized. I'm American, Mexican-American, Hispanic, Latina, American from Mexican decent- whatever you what to call me, within reason of course.
I live in Alhambra which borders East LA. I was born in ELA and grow up in and around the surrounding communities. There are bakeries on almost every corner in ELA. I go to a bakery that my father's family owned oh back a few decades ago. There are new owners but it's still my favorite for sentimental reasons. As for mexican food I am so picky about where I eat. My MIL is the best cook I know , well one of the best. She still makes homemade tortillas. We just had some with green chile and pork a few weeks ago. It's a rarity because she now lives in New Mexico but she visits often.
Jen is in Riverside right? Maybe I could get together w/ her. We'll see.
