TOPIC: Jill's mom
#42786
Jill's mom 2 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
Are these two twins born a few years apart or what! Even the voice is the same! I must say, I had presumed she'd be a big woman too. I think she lost weight because I remember her being a big woman in pictures Jill showed when she first entered the house.

I am glad that Jill's mom decided to take a day (or two) off from work to come to the SOH. She did lose some weight because she was much bigger in the pic shown.

I recall earlier in the season them saying that because of her heart attack and health issues that she had lost alot of weight.

The possibly could have fueled some of the feelings of inadequacy or turmoil that Jill was feeling.

I was very moved with Jill and her mom when they met together today with Iyanla. I thought they both opened up in ways they may never had before.

I could also see what Jill's issues are with her mom. At the one point her mom turning around the discussion to say that maybe it would have been better for Jill if she hadn't have survived her heart attack. Jill was obviously very upset by that... I can see where Lynda probably did inadverdantly manipulate Jill.

Wow! Talk about 2 people living the same experiences and seeing them completely differently!!! Very enlightening visit, I think. I am also VERY impressed with the way SO and Iyanla have handled Jill's mom. Openly and honestly discussing the past, issues, feelings, etc. without flaying either one of them alive!

I definitely can see why Jill has the issues with her mom that she does. But I can also see that (although mom has a long way to go, after all she hasn't been in the SOH!) Lynda does really love Jill and wants what's best for her!!

Very wonderful to watch this unfold the way it is!

It's cute the way they have the same facial expressions and everything lol

Mom relates all of Jill's problems to her, when she isn't the source of everything.. instead she needs to step back and be supportive and understanding that other influences in Jill's life crippled Jill, such as people calling her fat, things that happened in her childhood etc. I think that this is probably why Jill had such a hard time being open with her mom, because her mom takes every situation and turns it to what "she" (the mom) did wrong instead of hearing and supporting her in whatever situation is being discussed. She's a loving mom she just needs to focus outward more, not everything is about her. That's something she herself needs help with

Wonder why they didn't mention the tumor in the session with her mom? Or maybe they did and it was edited out.
