So upset I lost the post the first time around! I saw this one-woman musical a few months back...didn't think I would enjoy it, but did, alot! She is coming back to town in bringing awareness to Mental Illness Month.

I plan to go & have an extra ticket...anyone want to join me???

There are billboards up around town with her big picture up there, a beautiful, talented Black Woman. She will show, with her many talents, the story of her Bipolar Illness & how she deals with it and has overcome adversities of it!
Well, I have the tickets...now to find someone. Called my 27 yr old estranged niece but she never returned my call! Probably end u going alone...just like I am all the time....

Thanks hd! I'm listening to Wambui's interview on the site you listed. She is very well spoken and what a story! Have you seen her whole show? Do you know all of her background?

She was in NYC, studing in college, at 19. The next thing she knows, it is four months later and she is in Los Angeles, CA! That was her first manic episode. For years she had depression, but the manic never was diagosed, because she felt fine, and didn't tell the doctors about the high moods. She is bipolar, and sounds like a very entertaining storyteller. Is that other ticket spoken for yet? Sign me up!

I feel so appreciative hsmom that you did take the time & look it up! It makes me feel so good. I did see her show once already, guess it was in May,2004. I am surprised she is coming back already to this small town!

No, I did not read the information on there nor am I able to "hear" the interview...webtv does not allow that for us. (Can't see video parts either of anything.) I am thankful to be able tohave met the Banditas & talk to y'all daily!!
In the Performance I saw, she acted out & sang & danced her life story! Just as you said her life happened. I didn't know what I was in for when I went. I was just hoping I would be able to crawl out the back door if I needed to! Don't liek being around people like that anymore...
OK, I've ranted enough on this post. YES, the ticket is still available...called niece again, left voice mail, no call back.
