I only have one comment to this as the rest of what I'm thinking would most definately need to be bleeped out! lol

I think that if SO is going to use mentors to help a hg that they should KNOW that this person would make a good mentor.. someone that may have made mistakes and learned from them to help someone else going through the same issues.. not someone that is capitalizing on those 'issues' and ends up going downhill from there.. now Porn?! That just *bleep* *bleep* *bleep* .. see I told you...

Okay. So she had me fooled. Such a waste of human potential. I thought she was headed for a legitimate career. I bet Oprah is ticked.

P.S. I think "honorable hooker" is an oxymoron.

I did not see Ms. Steffans on any of these talk shows that are described, but, I am one of the few, probably weird, people who doesn't necessarily consider stripping or related ventures as a moral issue. I think clumping all dancers, erotic film actors, etc into one bunch is unfair. I know, I know, everyone has their own opinion about this issue. But I think it is more complex than just writing someone off as a ****. I have friends who use men in such ways that it disgust me, but it's done under the name of a "relationship" and not a business proposition.

I realize Christina was very unhappy and wanted to leave a life that she described as horrible and dangerous. And I think she really achieved that. To my knowlegde there isn't any confirmation she has returned to her former way of life.

But I don't think Iylana or SO got it wrong with this role model for Christina. Remember what Iylana said about people in that business returning; "It's hard to keep the girl off the pole." Iylana knew what she was talking about. Dr. Stan also reiterated how difficult it was to walk away from so much money and struggle on low wages. I doubt they are surprised by Ms. Steffins career developments.

Is Karine the woman who was on the Oprah show last week...boo hoo hooing...about how badly she was treated and how denigrated she was when she danced in rap videos? I really didnt feel all that sorry for her, but I will say she was gorgeous. I want me an Oprah camera to take everywhere I go!

I dont see it as a moral issue either Debby. Its only that when I saw Karine on Oprah and she was so tearful, and blaming of the record execs and the rappers etc....it didnt sit well. I mean...its a choice. She didnt mind it when she was raking in the cash and doing the drugs.

Please dont think I dont have compassion, but this young woman is in no way ready to have the status of a "mentor". At least not to someone who is trying to better themselves in life....not just in stripping.
