TOPIC: Is it just me?
#31589
Is it just me? 2 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
I am hoping to get feedback (negative or positive) from this post. I am not sure if it is just me or not, but for the life of me I can not get into this season of SO. Everytime a coach speaks (and it does not seem to matter which one), I feel it is in a condescending, spiteful tone to one of the HGs. What ever happen to compassion? Today's show was a perfect example. I just feel that the life coaches feel "superior" to the HGs, and their goal is to make them feel "stupid". Also, if one more person gets "threatened" with getting "kicked out of the house"...I may lose my breakfast. Do they all not know this by now? Does it have to be repeated to every HG every day? I saw the previews for tomororw with Iyanla taking it to Christina once again....in typical LC fashion.

Again, I am looking for feedback if this is just "my perception" which is very likely, and possibly some advice in order to change that perception in order to continue watching. I used to love this show...

Thanks for the advice

I'm sure it's not just you! LOL I'm sure there are many viewers who feel just as you do and at times, I would count myself among them. For the most part though, I try to get to the bottom of the issue and just toss out the fluff and filling.

I think they're getting down right scary!

Rhonda's, "I'll deal with you later," to Lisa was uncalled for. What is this show ,now? Public humiliation?

You're not alone in questioning their motives. I think they want more shock value for ratings. But at the cost of what?

For me it's more of an issue of 6 women who have absolutely no communication skills nor teamwork attitudes. There are times I don't agree with a certain something a coach might do or say; but then, there always will be since we all respond so differently to different methods. Some have said the coaches are too mean, others too huggy. I am hoping that they have so much info on these ladies from all their interviews, applications, profiles, etc. that they really do coach to each differently according to what they need. Call me naive, but that's how I was assuming this process went (oh well, there's that assume word again!!)

For me, the realization point was when Rhonda "tapped" Lou in the mouth during one of the couples episodes about the car exercise. I could not believe my eyes when I saw a LC strike a HG regardless of the situation. The only way I could even consider that action acceptable is if was self defense, but it most definitely was not. Rhonda tapped Lou's mouth like a mother taps a child's mouth for saying something bad. Since then I have noticed a lot of sneers from Rhonda and an air of superiority from Iyanla all in increasing frequency. The way I get past this is to focus on the houseguests and their stories. No matter what the LC's say, it is the women and the perceptions, ideas, and realizations that they come up with that change their lives, not the coaches. Coaches can only lead someone in a direction. I hope this helps you, and I totally understand your feelings.

The life coaches seem not to have the time for the houseguests as they have in the previous seasons. So far this season the drama between the women has seemed so much more hyped up then the actual process.

At least Dr Stan is still nice...
