Ok... I got a question for ya all, my son who is in college, and is very athletic, just out of the blue after playing sports or lifting weights starting peeing blood, ALOT of blood, it looked like he was having a period! it was so bloody! Of course I took him to the doctor, and they did an ultrasound, and saw nothing, sent him to another doctor they did a scope, a CAT scan and nothing! Everything looks normal! No tumors, no kidney stones! They re sending him to a "kidney doc" next week, a doctor who does nothing but kidneys. Ever heard of such a thing??? I am going crazy

Oh my .... as mother you must be scared. The link wildpinky provided looks like it could help you. How long do you need to wait to see the kidney dr? Let us know if we can support you through your wait. And please keep us updated. You're in my thoughts as well.

This must be a scary thing for your right now as you don't know why this is happening.

Urinary tract infection, Kidney stones, bladder stones, urethritis, kidney infections, and an infected prostate, and too much calcium can cause blood in urine.

My suggestion is while you’re waiting to go to your appointment next week, go see your family doctor and have him do a blood test.

Here is some links I found if you would like to take a look at.

Please keep us posted boudicca. You and your son are in my thoughts.

Thanks for the links, I read them all! Each article mentions the "running" and THAT is when it gets BAD! after he plays football, or lifts weights, or plays basketball. I told him to quit doing all those things and just sit for a while! He has No pain either. Just alot of blood!
The first Urolgist did mention he had calcium and protien in his urine too, BUT just told him to change his diet, and quit drinking so much milk, and things like that... This new urolgist hasn't mentioned anything about that.
I wish he was closer to home so I could at least go to the doc with him. But where he is at now is supposed to be one of the best hospitals is our area, so I guess that is a plus. I will let ya all know when I get an update!
