There must be a missing piece to the story that we don't know yet. I don't think it's merely that her parents let her get away with stuff. Alot of parents do that and the children don't turn out this dysfunctional.

I find it kind of odd that she still calls her mother "Mommy" at age 40.

I am really hoping she does last long enough in the SOH. I am very interested to actually see her interaction with her parents. It could be very enlightening!! Did the previews say they were coming any particular time, as in soon??

Well I can see her calling her mommy. A lady I work with, who is in her fifties, refers to her mother as mommy. I too, at 36 call my mother mommy or mom. Just depends on the conversation.

I feel sorry for Lisa also, She reminds me of a child with a sheltered life. This probably was the only life she ever knew. Almost like she has been in a bubble for 40 years, and now the bubble is shrinking. I see embarassment in her face also. I think she speaks the words, but has no idea that she is actually offending others. I saw the look when that lady at the job made the remarks at the end about hireing Lisa and she was good with customers. Lisa's face looked like a lil girl at christmas opening a present. There is a lot of rich people that over indulge their children, and they wouldnt really know how to survive if needed. I think kicking her out of SO house would probably do more harm than anything else. She would then think she is a worthless person, and no one could help her.

Just speculating here and wondering if perhaps her parents are survivors of Hitler's death camps. If so, that might explain why they have raised her as they have--with so much love that they couldn't deny her anything. If true, it would explain a lot about how Lisa feels responsible for them and for why they misguidingly never allowed her to grow up. I could explain the overcompensation her folks have given her.

It will be interesting to see if her parents actually come to the SO house to visit. Regardless if my speculation is correct, I think her parents visit will shed a lot of light to why Lisa is as she is.
