Thats a great one! It reminds me of a quote by Steven Covey that said (paraphrasing) "Everyone guards their gate of change, and the gate can only be opened from the inside." It reminds me much of the quote you gave, which I understand is meant in a different sense, but notice the careful wording of the quote - because it essentailly says the same thing: Dont light other people's wick with your flame of knowledge, let them light their own wick with your flame of knowledge.

"Stay in your own world." Iyanla There are days that I remind myself of that one when I'm hiding from my own problems by worrying about someone else's.

I loved every word about fear that came out of Dr. Michael Beckwith's mouth. Especially - "fear is misdirected attention."

And I have this one written in my journal - uncredited, but I think maybe Iyanla said it. "You make the day - the day don't make you."

i love that onw too it is my new motto if I son't like what is happening to me i say to myself "MAKE ANOTHER CHOICE GIRL"
