TOPIC: TJ's Story

TJ's Story 2 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
Did I miss it, or did SO edit out TJ's story? I know she has a great husband, not much about her mom, her dad gave her checks, and shd didn't do well in school. She said in a confessional she hopes the other women will understand her better after her story is told. It wasn't until her first assignment I saw she had learning disabilities. I still don't understand what her issues are, what caused them in her past, or who she is.

I think her story is, she has a somewhat normal life but is fantastically annoying and she sees herself as that ugly picture of her as an ugly child.

Did she say horrific? I miss a lot when I leave the room sometimes! But does anyone know exactly what, besides being ugly as a child, happened to her? Or did she just come to SO knowing she has issues but doesn't know why? I guess there might be some revelations to come. I do feel for her as I think she takes criticism very well, and although she is annoying in her constant drivel about nothing, she seems to genuinely want to learn, improve, and take responsibility...unlike Lisa who is a phony and thinks she knows it all.

TJ, what is her story. As a mother with a child that has learning disabilities, many scars from medical operations, and insecurities from living with a older sibling that is on the honor roll and a younger one that EVERYONE tells us is a genuis. That may sound really insignificant to some. Yet, if you had to live with that your whole life, it would mount up into a huge weight of failure and disappointment. So many kids with learning disabilities and other challenges deal with it through anger, through verbal assualt, and through acting out on authority. How frustrating for TJ to not have the social, intelectual, or verbal skills the other ladies have. So, how do they repay her. They gang up one her. The other day when Rhonda asked if anyone wanted to be TJ's friend? I wanted to run to the phone and start calling. That is what happens to people like my son. Somewhere along the way we teach our kids that if the people around us are slightly different we need to smile polietly then walk away quickly. I guess dyslexia might be contagious. Who will be the one to let TJ know that its all over. She is not alone anymore. Yes, she has to change, but the point is she going to have support while doing it. Support!!! A word a learning disabled child from the 60's didn't have.

Tj is insecure and needs some help, at least she recognized that there is a problem, i just dont think she knows how to label or discribe it and all the other stories are overwhelming her, she wants to be empathetic but doesnt know how to do it in a apppropriate way
