There's alot to say about that story of yours hugs. You have horrendous weather causing a tornado to come through town, saving all but one visitor. You to this day are in awe of storms. And realize years later you ALL were spared.

As for watching the storms from a balcony with lightning and all, you are testing Fate maybe. Following them, for sure!!!

Safest place too be in strom is in your car!
I do not see it as tempting fate, I am just enjoying the wonders of nature
Now if I were to be out playing say golf or swimming, in a strom then I would be tempting fate

In the Paso Robles area, in December 2003, the earthquake squashed all the cars that were in front of the store that collapsed. Two women lost their lives, if they would have stood in a doorway they would still be alive. The best thing to do is stay calm, get under a table or stand in a doorway. I just had my garage rebuilt, they put earthquake strong walls right by the garage doors. Most new construction projects are required to put in Simpson Strongwalls earthquake tested. I think that is where I should go.

During a lightening storm , a car is a safe place,because it is grounded.
However if a tree gets hit and falls on your car....not too good
Earth quake,or hurricane...you need to be under something that won't collapse on top of you if everything around you is crumbling
And MOST importantly have your affairs in order and be prepared to meet your Maker!!

Just found out today about Mount St.Helens getting ready too blow.!!!!!!

My oldest daughter just moved too Burnaby British Columbia and now she
is only about 2hours away from that mountain.

My grandparents were both alive the last time it blew and they lived with the ash for weeks !!
My daughter has not the best of lungs, bronchitis and allergies.
I am sure this is going too bother her a lot.

Now me I would give anything too see a volcano blow

But when it is my kid that is different.
I WANT HER HOME HERE IN ONTARIO WITH ME
