California earthquake 4 Years, 3 Months ago Karma: 0
California just experienced a 6.0 quake. The epicenter is in a very rural are, Parkfield.
Parkfield is in between Paso Robles and Coalinga. Paso had a quake in December 2003. Coalinga's news making quake was in the early 1980's. I haven't heard of any damage as of yet.
My daughter lives in Atascadero, 7 miles south of Paso Robles. I got four panic calls in a row. She is okay just shock.
I was taking the kids for a walk and didn't feel a thing. My son was home and he felt it.
I will keep you all posted.

I sure hope there are not too many aftershocks near your daughters home
We do not have or at least I have never felt any earth quakes to say more then deep rumble. We did live in a mining city and there were blast every morning and night some were very strong and our home would shake
Those ones I hated so much.
After growning up around that feeling of the earth shaking under your feet, you just assume everyone does
Till you hear of these earth quakes that are 6.0 it really reminds you how safe we are here in Canada.
Again hope everyone is safe and remains that way

Glad you are okay, mydogkat. I heard the news of the earthquake on the radio today, they said the towns you mentioned, and said near San Fransisco. I thought, I know someone in CA, MYDOGKAT!

Hope your daughter deals with it okay.

take care

I would take an earthquake over a tornado or hurricane anyday. Pick your disaster.
Everyone is fine no harm no foul.

I lived through a tornado when I was younger. August of 1970 the torado went through around 8:00 am, and it damaged half the town I was born in.
To walk around the town was like you were in a dream.
How could wind and rain turn homes around on the foundations.
How could it take the top front off a house and put it through the bedroom of the house nest door!
I was only 13 then and I can still today, walk up each street in my town and remember exactly what it looked like four hours after the storm went through.

My oldest sister was saved from death because she slept in that day and missed the bus. What was a shock and still hard too believe was that there was not a singel child or adult out on the streets that morning, Not one.
Every other day you could always see kids already out playing and people out and about.
Where else in the world do you not see a soul out on a street that far into a moring!
God was watching out town that morning!
