That's what I'm assuming, too. Maybe they'll bring her parents on.

Have to say there's something likeable about her so I hope she bears down and gets with the program. I can hear her whining now. .lol

Spoiled doesn't always mean bad. Once we get past those tendencies, maybe we'll uncover a compassionate gal. Time will tell.

I thought it was interesting that Lisa was irritated by TJ talking too much.
Something tells me that LISA is usually the one who talks too much!

I worked with someone like Lisa that wasn't as fortunate to be able to quit whenever she wanted, so we were stuck with her.
I wish we could know what her parents are really like.

I don't really blame her for being like she is, her parents have done quite the dis-service to her. I think she looks older than forty too.

I find Lisa rather bland so I don't have much of an emotional reaction to her one way or the other. I'm not sure why she evokes such anger in Iyanla. Today Iyanla seemed to really have warm feelings towards Christina even with her past, but when Lisa was talking about the lifeboat assignment and referred to her self as having naiivette' Iyanla blurted out, "No you're not naiive! You're lazy!" My question is this; does she really want to help her or does she dislike her so intensely that she's not really interested in helping her.

I've seen people on that show who have done far worse things to others than Lisa has, yet I do get the feeling that Iyanla extends more empathy to everyone else besides her.

The way I read Lisa is that she laughs as a coping mechanism to try to be a good sport when some of the people there are being incredibly judgemental of her. I don't think she's proud of the way she lives, but if everybody reacts to her as if she's a piece of dung, she can either agree with them, dispute them, or try her best to roll with the punches and not take it too hard. If she did the first two things I believe she would either get emotionally worse, or be kicked off the show, so the third option seems reasonable under the circumstances.

I think some of the staff and houseguests have already formed a negative opinion of her and they aren't going to like her regardless of what she does. If she consciously changes her behavior they'll accuse her of being phony, if she is herself, then they won't like that either, so she is in sort of a double-bind.

From the previews I saw at the end of the show today it looks as if maybe this will start to change and Iyanla will start to have more empathy for her as she reveals some deeper things about herself.

She comes across at first glance as very superficial, but I think that's just a way for her not to attract any more negative attention to herself than she has already. She probably fears that she will just be digging herself deeper if she shows vulnerability so she tends to stay on the surface instead of let people really know her.

When people outside herself beat up on her so heartily it takes that responsibility away from her. I don't know if Iyanla realizes that, but it's true.

I think it will be interesting to see tomorrow what it is that turns the tide to make the two of them more in sync.

Giftbearer: This is how I saw that exchange today -

Lisa is a blamer (remember the wig and "Allison put it on me&quot and today she wanted to blame Jessica for crossing her name of the list as an "integrity issue." It wasn't what Iyanla was talking about - but Lisa wanted to go there. So Iyanla turned it around - instead of questioning Jessica on why she did that, she said, "What does that say about you Lisa? It says you expected other people to protect your spot." Yes she did call her lazy - hard to hear for sure - but I think she was trying to help Lisa see the situation in a different way - not as "I didn't make it on the boat because it was someone else's fault." But to see her own part in it.

And, I agree - I think we will see a whole new side of Lisa soon. That may help folks have more compassion for her.
