These two seem very different and I'm not sure how they got together in the first place.

It does scare me that he expects to have so much control over Kacie. I know that in middle-eastern countries where he comes from it is considered socially acceptable to beat your wife. That is not O.K. in this country, but I wonder if his cultural beliefs might put her at risk. In some ways he seems rather Americanized, but at the same time, even if he is second-generation he holds onto some beliefs that are obviously denigrating of women.
