Hubby was home, and he didn't turn the channel! He thought it odd of me taking notes, and had quite the comments about the women. He didn't turn it though. Although I still needed to make coffee and breakfast for him. I will try my best....
The women were saying "born to lie" at the beginning of the show in a meeting with Dr. Stan. I guess they are talking about men. Jennifer says that see has anger toward her dad, and that all men cheat, all men lie. They say men are all about sex and cheat because they want other sexual partners.
Stan says to the camera that the women are frightened, and to forgive their fathers is to betray their mothers. What a statement!! Why didn't he say that to them?
The women agree they were jipped, and robbed of their childhood. Stan asks them to consider the question, what is the payoff to hanging on to the anger they feel fro their fathers? Now he sounds like Dr. Phil!
Towanda is labeling her family, with stickers and stick figures in the lawn. Iyanla says Towand has to see before she believes. Right off, she says her step-mom is her daddy's wife. She has to earn the title step-mom. Do you all see the problem here? Iyanla says your perceptions grow out of your associations. Towanda needs to practice emotional honesty. She is trying to figure out her role in the family, her perception, anyway. She labels herself angry, failure and others. Daddy is fake, Toni is golden child, Step-mom is victim, and other nasty labels.
Kim's next assignment is to welcome the next roomie, Sommer. She is to plan a party for her and the other ladies. Her budget is small, so she can't buy her friendship, she has to put some thought into it.
Towanda says to Stan that she has been away from her husband for two weeks now. She says that she trusts her husband 80%, just because he is a man. He has done nothing not to have her 100% trust. She doesn't trust men, and that includes Dr. Stan. She sees things as black and white, mom=good, dad=bad. She is willing to forgive her father, but not if that includes accepting her father's wife.
Sommer arrives! The ladies show her to her tiny room, and then it is time for her to share her story. She has had gastric bypass surgery, and has lost some weight. She would like to loose more. She has been to weight watchers. She admitted she had sex with a married man. Oh, you should see the ladies! The "other woman" is in the room with them!

When her lover's wife found out, he was thrown out. Sommer and he were together for awhile. He died in a car accident. Jennifer said she never lost someone close, and she feels for her.
Rhonda has Sommer draw a fit body, an overweight body, and then Rhonda traces her actual body frame. At her heaviest, she was 273, and her drawing is a snowman. She has so many negative feelings, losing weight won't get rid of those feelings.
Kim's party has a Hawaiian theme, and the ladies look like they are having fun, all except Sommer. She is who the party is for! Kim did not do a good job of welcoming her, IMO. She says she doesn't want to judge, but that is all she is doing.
Next week, Kim is shown smashing some glass, Josie says she is done with men, Jennifer says she is the kid, not the adult, Towanda is upset with Sommer being in the house, saying she knew what she was doing, she made the wrong choice. Sommer is dealing with her guilt, and she says she made the wrong choice! Looks like the women are open to change, let's see how they get there.
Got to go, I smell the banana bread...
