Thank everyone for their input. Although many of the anwers were not very specific. I did watch all of the shows. Funny, I never once heard Cassie speak about making amends to her son. Only that "she deserved" to reunite with him.
All of the women enter the house more reserved than when they leave. It is nautural to be somewhat shy in a new situation. I honestly did not see Cassie change at all for the better. She still blames her childhood, the disease of alcoholism, Dustins mother and pretty much everything and everyone for her situation in life. Her attitude towards putting any real effort into taking the GED was also very annoying.
I do not with her anything but happiness, but she will need to make the effort to get there. I hope she does.

...Not at all?...Does that mean then that you think she changed for the worse or that she didnt change at all?...I think when she realized and expressed that her Mom wasnt capaple of being the person Cassie thought she should be/wanted her to be/expected her to be and she let that go, she stopped "blaming her childhood"..."The disease of alcoholism" she has obviously conquered to date because of the many years she has under her belt..(I forget how many?...anyone)..When she surrendered control in the situation with her son, wasn't she saying that she doesnt blame anyone, but that she trusts enough to be able to take that leap of faith...It'd be easy to hang on to blame...but to let go of your heart and trust the universe enough to believe it will come back... to me shows growth and higher understanding...I thought she seemed quite determined and genuinely working for her GED..She did well..passed 4out of 5 areas right?...You gotta say thats "not bad" at the very least huh?

If anything, I think she came away with the attitude that she is more 'entitled than ever."
.I think when she realized and expressed that her Mom wasnt capaple of being the person Cassie thought she should be/wanted her to be/expected her to be and she let that go, she stopped "blaming her childhood"...
Cassie and Rhonda refused to even allow Cassie's mother to speak. The minute that Cassie's mom began telling of how Cassie showed up and her home in the middle of the night with strange men and listening to the stories and lies that Cassie wove to these men. Cassie's mother was sent off in a Taxi. It was clear that Rhonda did not want the viewers to hear any of this.
"The disease of alcoholism" she has obviously conquered to date because of the many years she has under her belt..(I forget how many?...anyone)..
You probably don't remember how long it has been because Cassie kept changing her story. At first it was 14 years, then 11 years and then she suddenly remembered that four years ago she called up Dustins mother when she was drunk, But Cassie didn't think that , that time counted because she believed that Dustin's mother was unaware that shew was drunk??
When she surrendered control in the situation with her son, wasn't she saying that she doesnt blame anyone, but that she trusts enough to be able to take that leap of faith...It'd be easy to hang on to blame...but to let go of your heart and trust the universe enough to believe it will come back... to me shows growth and higher understanding...
Cassie gave Dustin up for adoption. She has no rights to him at all. Open adoption does not mean that she can enter his life at any time. It simply means that the records are open. Cassie does not have the right to disrupt his life, malign his mother and expect that she will instantly be accepted as his mother. She gave up her pursuit because the attorney told Rhonda and Cassie that they could become the subjects of a Law Suit if they continued.
I thought she seemed quite determined and genuinely working for her GED..She did well..passed 4out of 5 areas right?...You gotta say thats "not bad" at the very least huh?
Cassie passed part of the GED. Her actions did not show determination. She was far more intent on attempting to gain the sympathies of the Tutor by telling of her sad tales.
Cassie is a woman in her 40's who has done everything in her power to ignore responsibilty. The best help she could get would be for her to be forced to take responsibility for herself and her decisions in life.
Yes, I have empathy for her, but I think she exhausted her pity pot! If we want a life, a happy and fulfilled life, we must work at it!

Dang LaurenB, are you the adoptive mom or what??? I cannot believe a viewer of a TV show is so hung up on repeatedly trying to convince others that there is something wrong with one of the persons from that show!!!
If you don't like her story, so be it! You said it but why drag it on, just pull Cassie over the coals again and again!!! I can't fathom the things you are saying are about a woman that many of us watched and did NOT see it the way you did!
But you are entitled to that opinion no matter what side of the coin it lands on.
Oh, what does that B stand for next to your name?
Peace.........

OHHh ok you are talkin about the episode when she had the math tutor came to help her... Dr. Stan brought it to her attention that she was living in the past and using that as an excuse and she STOPPED! She is JUST getting started in her path... she has a really hard time but she gets there... she learns to stand up for herself and learns when to let it go!!!!!! I saw her grow up alot. As far as determination she tried twice to pass the math part... for her maybe that was determination... I thought it was... she definately is a different person but she grew on me and I ended up liking her when she did let go of things... that is just what I saw. But I also remember being frustrated with her too! I just thought that she really did make a big turn around. IMO!
