Oh my girls,
today is the day I hope and pray.
Ron my hubby has 3 kids all grown up from another marriage. we've already disscussed clay the youngest on here and so now, there is Clint.
Ron hasn't spoken to Clint the oldest or Kaylene his daughter in over 6 years.
Clint works at the fire station about 10 miles from here.
Ron is off today and when I woke up he said, "Lets go motorcycle riding today". I said I'd love to but I think today is the perfect day to go to the station and see your son". He thought I was joking and so I told him, "Until you go, we are not riding the motorcycles and I'm serious".
No said then done, he got up, got dressed and just took off. I pray he is there. I will let you know.

well Ron went to the firestation and rang the bell at the front door and nobody answered. I asked him if the trucks were there and he said he couldn't tell because the garage sliding door was closed. So we went dirt bike riding and came back and I ht him up again to go to the station, but he said no. Not today he said maybe tomorrow. Oh well, at least he made the effort to go there and try to see him. for that I am thankful

Give him credit for trying, glad it went okay. This has got to be tough. My step dad is a Ron too, and has lost touch with his grown kids. That connection to family, if it is healthy, helps in so many ways. Who knows how this separation from their dad will affect the way they deal with relationships, and raising their own kids.

Way to go Lanie for pushing him to get back his family. You never know when its gonna be to late to say those words, I regret everyday not telling my parents how much I LOVED, ADORED, and ADMIRED them. Kudos to you for making this happen.
