I really want to say thank you for your insight and thoughts. I am new here and I just wanted to say that. I have read alot of posts and I did not find anything negative with what you said. As I understand it (correct me if I am wrong) this is a place where we can all put our thoughts. They are just thoughts. So I hope I can keep reading these boards and getting good feedback like yours.

This is just my feeling... I belive that Tess' lives in "darkness", but the darkness has nothing to do with the color of her skin. I remember when she said in the bathroom that colored women just did not like her... and white women just did not like her. How alone do you have to be to realize it may not be all about what is around you but what is IN you that may be the problem? Like I said.. just my thoughts!

You are entitled to your opinion, of course, but I totally agree with the life coaches that Tess needs help, but until she is willing to go deeper in her feelings and stop intellectualizing things, she will not progress. I speak on this subject as one who spent too long in my 20s doing the same thing as Tess. I knew I was stuck and that I needed help, but I was really bad at hearing what people were saying to try to help me ... and I filtered everything I read or heard through intellectual analysis, which is of little or no help to emotional understanding.
Tess is her own worst enemy, and her family agrees ... so I find your criticisms of Rhonda, et al. to be without merit ... or pointless, at least. My opinion, of course.

Absolutely. Tess has been at the centre of many debates here on this site, on the show, and I suspect in life as well. The thing that I think all of us can agree on is she's just not "there" yet. When she realizes and accepts that she needs help, then and only then will she be open to accepting the help. I for one, wish her the best and hope that one day she gets all that she could have in life and in love.
