I found this book...Funky to Fabulous by Eli Davidson. It is a great read and so much fun! And I read somewhere that Starting Over's producer Maria Varnas absolutely loved the book! I was trying to find out some info about this book and coincidentally I saw another connection to SO.

The author has a website and a short paragraph near the end of the page mentions her receiving an award that Iyanla Vanzant also won the following year.
