That's a very good point, shadow. It was Iyanla who said they either clean the car or pack their bags and leave, yet she told Michael to "get it" and do the assignment next time. Lou feels immasculated in his marriage and maybe he was trying to take a stand for himself with someone he wouldn't have to go home with as a test run. I think that idea throws a little twist to it because not only did Rhonda tap Lou in the mouth with her hand, but Iyanla was forceful in her tone and gestures. So, are they adding to his feelings of being demeaned as a man. Maybe his tantrum wasn't a tantrum and more of a way to stand up for himself as Michael did, but he did it more emotionally than Michael for good reason. If all that is true, it makes me think that he gave in and cleaned the car because it was the only way to prove his manhood to two women in power who hold his fate in their hands.

Gosh, you gave me a lot to think about, shadow.

What a great point cs! I forgot about that because there WAS no big deal made. He was softly, kindly, advised that he should always do assignments and that was the end.

It still seems I'm the only one in Lou's corner here. Maybe it's not as severe as OCD moonchild. His wife's crazy about the dustbuster though. I just know that the reality chip in my brain would tell me..."It's a metaphor doorknob! Not cleaning the car is not going to end your marriage!" It is just a task I would not be able to do...I would literally be sick! I think it's disgusting that they would ask the HG's to do this assignment to begin with.

Great observation moonchild....and the SOT folks are startin' to see things my way! LOL

I didn't mean a severe case of OCD. I can't touch anything really nasty without having to wash my hands with lots of soap and hot water. I don't have OCD; I'm just VERY conscious, especially in the kitchen.

Hey...I'm with ya! I don't think it OCD, but that's what I'm talkin' about...forcing me to clean that crap would not gain anybody anything. That's cruel and unusual assigning! There have been some tough assignments in the SO House. But no other has made me so "no way would I do that". I've thought how tough one would be or how emotional one would be, but I can't think of any other assignment that I wouldn't have tried. This one is germs and bugs and feeling icky on your hands...even with rubber gloves before anyone suggests it. And smells get me too! I don't think it's odd that me or Lou or anyone else would want to steer clear of this task. If they want to toss him, well that's sad, but I'm still proud of him for standing up and saying no way.
