Prayer request 1 Year ago Karma: 0
Hi everyone, yesterday (7/6/07) I recieved a phone call from my dad saying my mom was in the emergency room in Nebraska and I'm in Georgia, I had no way of getting to her and they didn't know what was wrong with her at the time. She was so sick and in so much pain that she literally couldn't talk too me, my dad held the phone up to her while I told her I love her, I miss her, I wish I was there with her, and I wish there was something I could do to help her. She managed to mumble through the pain and agony that she loves me too, she was so bad that she was almost literally almost screaming out loud.

Well later on like hours later I called back and my dad said they had told them they knew for sure that she had a very serious kidney and unirary tract infection, but they were waiting on more test results. We waited for hours again, then I heard the phone ring and my Grandmother came and told me they were sending her to another hospital and had to do emergency surgery on her and remove her appendix, although this is a common surgery there's always a risk involved.

Finally about another hour or hour and a half later, my dad called and said my mom was out of surgery and doing great. She called me herself later on, then she called me this morning and said they told her if she kept doing as good as she was she could go home in a few hours.

They indeed let her go home, but the surgery was laser surgery and yes it heals much faster that way but it's actually much more painful so please help me pray for healing and less pain for her. Also I'm not sure if she has any insurance, so please lets pray that God will bless them with the finicial ability to pay the bill.

I know that the Lord will heal her and things will be fine, it's all in His hands now praise be to Him for all things said and done.

Take care and God bless always,
thanks ahead of time as well for the prayers that will be said.

Sue

Hi Sue,

Glad to hear your mom is doing well now.. Also glad they were able to determine what was going on. If her appendix had burst than she would have had much greater problems..

I'm guessing that they were able to do the surgery laporscopically.. They would pump her abdominal area full of gas and go in through very small incisions to get the appendix out. There is a much quicker recovery time.. and only 2-4 small incisions with just a couple of stitches. They don't have to cut muscle..(not usually anyway..)

I had my gall bladder out that way..and aside from the discomfort of the bloating that dissipates over the next couple days it really is a wonderful way to go.. That might be why she is bouncing back so quickly and they are letting her go as soon as possible.

Of course I could be wrong...but I think that is the trend right now... They can even do gastric bypasses laporscopically now!

I'm guessing your mother will bounce back extremely quickly... She might be belching and tooting a bit more though for a couple days... Compared to the old 6 week recovery time... This will be a breeze! (I've known many who've had traditional surgeries for gall bladder and appendixes..)

Yes that's what they did, and I too know about it. I had gallbladder surgery when I was 15 years old so I know just how quickly people heal from it, and it's a super fast recovery time. I just talked to her earlier and she's feeling much better already, so God is at work in and through her.

Thanks for the prayers, kind words, and everything.

Take care and GOD bless always,
Sue.

Best wishes to you and your family Sue. I know it's hard to know your loved one is in pain. My mother has had several very painful surgeries and you feel quite helpless in what you can do to help, especially if you are far away.

Hopefully it will be a speedy recovery.
