Starting Over Talk

Did any of you see Rene Syler on Good Morning America this morning. She was interviewed by Dianne Sawyer. Rene used to be a morning anckor on The Morning Show on CBS. I thought she left for health reasons, but, hear today she was let go. This is a big surprise since she was the most talented person on the show, including the CEO's wife. But, that's another story.

Rene has a book out called "Good Enough Mother." It sounds great. She recently had a prophylatic mastectimony to reduce her risk of developing breast cancer. Years ago her mother AND her father both had breast cancer. She was living in great fear and having biopsies every year. After much thought she made her decision.

Her book is about trying to be a good mother who is not perfect. It apparently interjects humor that has inspired her family as they have dealt with hard times. I was really inspired and intend to get and read the book.

I'm also confused as to why she was let go from CBS news. It was not because of her health as I had thought when she left last year. She announced her intention to have the surgery the day she left. Something must be pretty screwed up on that program to have let her go. She is a delightful person who made that show and nobody then or now can hold a candle to her talent on the camera.
