I do use the FIT spray. But I know it only can help a little. I heard that the most important foods to buy organically grown were produce, meat and milk. We get homegrown beef.........but I need to change the others, but it's so expensive to feed the family. Oh well................I can't complain, at least we can afford to feed our family!!
I did hear that the cow manure they use isn't supposed to be used on any foods that are eaten raw. Hopefully they'll get all the "bugs" worked out and get some procedures and policies and enforcement!
It sure is expensive to go organic. I'm very slowly changing over. I started shopping at Whole Foods... I'm spending more, and purchasing less. There was a clip on one of the news shows regarding organic produce... because of the expense... the news show suggested going organic with grapes, cherries, potatoes, and I can't remember what else... because of the pesticides. Apples and pears can be pealed... so I think they were okay. A small carton of organic cherries were almost $10.00 -- too expensive. I've been buying organic eggs... I find they really taste better, and I've tried organic egg whites... they're very good, but expensive... I think I paid $6.00 for a small container.
I have not tried organic meat, but the meat at Whole Foods is grass-fed, no hormones, and very expensive. I'm serving smaller meat portions... larger salads, and more veg.
Oh well... like you said I'm grateful we can afford to feed our family, but it sure would be nice to be more confident in what I'm buying.
