Weight Watchers 2 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Well, I finally got around to joining Weight Watchers. Of course
I got rid on my scale long ago, but I was still mortified to learn
I am up to a health 255. Now, if I were 6'7" it wouldn't be quite
so bad, but I am 5'6'. I also have high blood pressure and high cholesterol. They really provide you with lots of tools, but I know
I am an emotional eater, and bag of celery and carrots just isn't
as satisfing as a nice peice of cake, or half a pan of brownies.
If any of you have workrd this progam and can give me so hints, I sure would appreciate it.
Many thanks.,
Chris

I can send you to a great forum!

Bootcamp buddies..
http://www.healthdiscovery.net/forums/index.php

Of course WW has their own forum too but at a cost. BCB is free.... and I enjoy checking out some of the topics... especially product reviews. People share what works for them..

There are also a couple other sites that are good.. Even sites that will give you points regarding eating out. More than WW provides with it's tools.

Dotties Weight Loss Zone is pretty popular too.
http://dwlz.com/

One other source is http://dietfacts.com/

It will give the nutrional breakdown and unofficial points as well. (the info will look like your standard nutrition label from a package...but the points will be near the bottom.)

I have joined a few times over the last couple dozen years. The latest was about 2 or 3 years ago. I didn't particularly care for the leaders at the location I was going.. but that site was a bit cheaper than a neighboring location. (be aware that fees can vary from location to location)..

My daughter and my husband both used the tools I obtained from joining and also used the sites I mentioned. Each of them managed to drop a bit more than 20 lbs. Me however, I still struggle with the compulsive eating habit.. Years ago before WW had their point system, I started walking and journaling my food... Basically I tracked calories and fat grams..and allowed myself X amt in either. Whichever I hit first was my limit for the day.

It allowed alot of flexibility and it really was working for me.. Then of course I got a bit complacent...with the walking and the good habits I built up over a couple months. Imagine my delight when WW developed a point system based on the same things and fiber as well.

Anyway, it does work! I hope you'll get a chance to check out those sites. My husband used dietfacts and Dotties the most.. I really liked bootcamp buddies!

Good Luck!

My mother used to belong to Weight Watchers. She did very well there. She learned that the more she ate what they advised, the more she lost. When she tried to eat less food than recommended, she didn't lose as much. Sounds crazy but she felt like she was eating too much, but she still lost weight.
