I added a ps that my comment wasn't directed to you... I felt that person's hostility and I was directly targeted.. I am sorry if I offended you. Not my intention.

I just found some links about notices about cancellations..

No, I don't think that show is coming back.. I've never said that... But I do hold out hope that a similar and even better version comes out sometime in the future. I sure don't think Bunim Murray's 'Bad Girls' on Oxygen, which just coincidentally is 6 women living in a house in L.A. is going to be an replacement.. That sounds like they are just twisting the same show to their own desires for drama and perhaps the general tv markets.. That show is supposedly due to debut this winter...

Check out these links.. Found very quickly by doing a search... Most television columns mention cancellations as they receive them. Some are yanked early some just are not renewed..

Interesting that this article mentions upgrades and positive signs for the show... and why they went to a 3rd season.

Well, What do you know... Looking around on the links that I provided... I found a couple new pieces of info...

One, believe it or not is an official cancellation dated the 14th of September. Not even 3 weeks old.. Who knows why NBC was so non committing regarding info last spring and into the summer. I think they may have provided the phone lines to pacify fans.. It's either cancelled or it's not, or it wasn't in their hands at that point. I always thought (my humble opinion) that it was B/M's decision all along.

another earlier link from May: indicating no decisions...

Many people have been peeking into this site when they realized the show wasn't on this fall. There have been alot of inquiries..

Some of us just hang around here to chat. All of us know that for all intents and purposes the show SO is gone... But the concept lives on!

Post edited by: KPW1956, at: 2006/10/05 11:44

Thanks for those sites KPW. That entire experience was something else. It was really difficult to know what to believe back then. I was personally given so much contradicting info from NBC, Bunim/Murray, etc.

If you'll remember I posted here just about every step I made in contacting anyone connected with the show that I could as did others. A representive of Bumin/Murray actually told me that it didn't matter if NBC didn't pick up SO for another season, that it would not be difficult to find another distributor. Bunim/Murray's legal counsel later told me that NBC was the hold up and that it WAS up to NBC. So at least we know the final decision of NBC at this point.

I was never keen on the manner in which NBC and Bunim/Murray conducted business with regard to SO. It was a classic case of an important matter being handled very unprofessionally.
The SO hotline opened by NBC was a good idea if they had really been more involved with the feedback. I wonder if they contacted any of the callers. I never received any and I left my name and telephone number on many occassions.

I am proud of the efforts that the members from this board and others made in an effort to save SO. Short of flying to LA and camping out on their lawn, I don't think we could have handled things any differently, even knowing what we know now.

I don't consider myself crazy to still hope that Rhonda, Iylana or Dr. Stan will emerge on the tube in some kind of helping role. They are that good. If that doesn't happen, then I expect some other talented people to create a program that is similar to SO. I'll reserve judgment on Bad Girls.

SO was a great concept and great product. It just had lousy marketing.
