Grizz I thought of you when I saw the snow on tv. Wow, it looked cold. How cold is it there? In North Carolina we very seldom get a big snow storm, but, when we do it is a BIG DEAL.

Almost everything closes down, except for grocery stores. But first everybody is out buying all the shovels, salt, fire logs, food, etc. The shelves are empty in the grocery store and the people are lined all the way to the back of the store to check out.
Everybody is soooooo excited that it's like Christmas Eve.

The cancellations run on the tv screen continually and this is before the first flake falls. Then once it starts snowing, the local channels cut into the regular shows every 20 minutes or so to give a weather update.

Then when the snow is really high, the local stations go to continuous broadcast on the weather. They interview the highway patrol, police, dept of transportation, emergency crews, kids playing in the snow, stranded motorist, you name it. They run non stop for days if it's a big snow.

It's kinda funny. I think I'm ready for one.

Pete!!!! Hey lil bro!!!!!! Howzit going???? ****hugs****

Lauren......yep, we're on the Palmer Divide.....we either get hit the hardest or it goes over us!!!! It's an either/or!!!!

Debby.......I know.........because this was the first nasty blizzard of the season and we almost always have deaths from stranded motorists........the local weather/closings/interviews went on from 6 a.m. until noon!!!! Sheeeeeeesh!!! No regular morning programming............THAT was the only bummer. But we all just played games and read and watched movies instead!!! Still very fun and today we're digging out!!! My 13 y.o. son went and shovelled for our 82 y.o. neighbor without being asked!!! I'm SO proud of him!!!!!

The only bad thing is that I'm down with a bum knee and am talking the kids thru baking and cooking............I'll find out with an MRI if it's just a really bad sprain or a miniscus tear! YUK......oh well....I'm hoping for the sprain and just a little more time to heal. Yeah...........this really doesn't help with weight issues........eating and not moving!!!!! Sheeeesh!!! Well....it could be worse.....I'm grateful it really is minor!!

Hey Grizz... sounded like you were almost enjoying the first blizzared of the season... you made it sound cozy and fun.

Hope you're feeling better... let us know when you get the results back from your MRI.

Your son did a very nice thing for your neighbor... it's so nice when our children fill us with pride.

Have a good day, and be careful when you play in the snow.

Mazzy

We have been very fortunate this year. What snow has fallen hasn't stayed long and we've had pretty nice weather the last couple of days. 9 - 15 Celcius . I don't remember any more what the equivalent would be in F. I just know that for late october in Winnipeg --it's pretty nice

Saturday, October28th

Cloudy, windy... 79 degrees.

I am so used to seeing the sunshine... when it's not it seems very strange... I see people looking up with a puzzled look on their faces... where's the sunshine. LOL

I try to save certain projects for days like this, but it's Saturday after all... the weekends are for rest... so there goes my project time. Oh well. LOL
