Starting Over Talk - Peer Coaching Support Site

Several times over the last day and a half or so when I've come to the SOT page, several times it does not complete loading and then I get an error message that closes down my browser. I ran a scan on my computer for virus'es last night in case that might have been a problem and nothing showed up. I've gotten on successfully about half the time.. and the problem only seems to be happening at this website.. and none of the others I frequent.

Anybody else having problems or can suggest something? Maybe the server is having problems..

That's strange. I haven't noticed anything on my end. When was the last time you cleared your browser's Temporary Internet files and cookies?<br><br>Post edited by: Tara, at: 2007/11/01 00:09

Sorry I couldn't tell you. We shut it down every night.. I guess I've assumed that the temporary files and stuff clears out automatically.

I've never manually cleaned them out.

At one point I rebooted but still had the problem.. It hasn't happened today though.. Maybe it was just a quirk. This computer is getting a bit older... and probably could use some major housecleaning regarding old programs and files..

Thanks for letting me know there isn't anything obvious going on. My husband is on travel.. and I'll try to make note of when it occurrs (that is 'IF' it occurrs again) and get him to show me what to do to clean out those temp files and cookies..

It's pretty easy to do. In IE just go to tools at the top of the browser and choose internet options. In Firefox go to tools and choose Clear private data. In FF the temp files are called cache.

Thanks, I deleted the temporary internet page files.. but didn't delete the cookies. I know some of the cookies I rely on to log in easier at some sites. Not sure if any of those would have been affected so I erred on the side of caution. It seems to be doing better.

Actually one bad cookie can really mess things up.
