what's the point 1 Year, 10 Months ago
People seem to have lost interest in posting for Starting Over.
Locking a topic that is of interest to many stifles personal growth. Not all who post here are on the same maturity level. Most of us get that. I have been very impressed that no one ever resorted to name calling, screaming, sexual overtures, and off-topic rants.
This board has been the most civilized of all message boards.
Heavy-handed policing was not required.

Not sure we are supposed to post here...but Tara will move it, if that's the case?

Just wanted to say that I never saw any "heavy handed policing" here...just the moderators doing their job...keeping things moderate. Have visited a couple of other sites where it really seemed like an anything goes free-for-all! I also don't agree that the locked threads stifled personal growth...hopefully they encouraged some, under the heading of "food for thought."

I hope that Dallas meant that as a compliment to Tara and to the community here.

What locked thread? I have been to other forums and it is very relaxed. So relaxed that anyone in the world can cause havoc for a weekend until the administrator comes back Monday to clean things up. I kind of wish Tara was on that forum to help us get rid of the troll once and for all!

Locking threads doesn't stifle personal growth. In order to grow people need to understand that life has boundaries. Threads are usually locked because they get heated or way off topic. People are more than welcome to begin new threads too.

Amen to boundaries, Tara! Seems to me that's what the SOH was all about....healthy boundaries! As to starting new threads, that's what I did when I could not find one that I was inclined to join...and still do.
Yes, the boards are quiet...some members may not be watching the reruns. As I have stated on several occasions, I am enjoying the shows I missed and getting quite a lot out of a "second look."
