Post on, can, post on!! The ladies who did spoilers for us last year had more time then than now to "surf the net" for the juicy stuff. Let me know if you find anything! I love spoilers!

I belong to a private board and several open boards. The private board doesn't mean we can't say what we want. We have great political, sexual, spiritual debates all the time. But it is always done with respect.
The purpose of a closed board is so that you don't get the "kids on school break" showing up and writing all kinds of crud. Remember that would happen all the time at the original board. It was disruptive and a pain for the mods. Who technically stunk anyway. It is not meant to put a chip on anyone's shoulder. I feel safer to share more deeply there than I do other places. I don't think it is necessary to slam a board just cause it is closed. It is a lot less moderating for the owner and they get to have more fun and there is no need to have several mods. Just this season I have seen two SO boards go under and even on this board there was a split. I like all the boards I visit and just think there is less hassle at the closed one. But I don't think it is fair to judge a board just on that basis. JMO

It's just that, for the private board mentioned above, the owner of it had a habit of going to other message boards and posting about his board, but then told everyone they couldn't join because it was by invitation only. That just annoyed me because of the tone used by him.

I'm sure they're not all like that!

Just trying to add perspective here.
I was one of those posters who requested to join that "other" board. I admit it was because I wanted to have access to spoilers. I joined along with almost 100 other new posters. So he didn't say no to everyone. There are no spoilers there anymore and tvgal has said that was her decision not his. But I have stayed and I enjoy it. Some do and some don't. But I think it is that way with any board, right? What I take issue with is those posters (swear I am not pointing fingers at anyone!) that feel that they need to go bash their "old" board in order to make friends at their "new" board and I am not just talking about that certain board. I know it happens at all of them. I know Tara has had this happen to her recently and even has had
a former mod from here go start another board and then they split to start even another board. So all boards whether open or closed have this, not just "his" board. I know I post rarely and I am not here to start anything, just hoping to add perspective. I am a lurker at heart and don't post just because I don't feel like I have anything particularily interesting to add.
And I do think there is less fighting on closed boards and yes it probably is because of control. I think every board has a feel to it and just because you are not comfortable at one, does that make it a bad board? Sorry to go on and on, I guess I had all those posts just waiting to get out!

I just wanted to reply to this thread to say that I am on both sites and find them two distintly different sites. I was told about this site from Sweetpeach and have heard her say only the best of things about it at WCW. I think the vision of WCW is more to provide comfort and support for people with issues similar to those of the house guests. We have several people finding the courage (with support) to branch out and share their stories with the goal of helping someone else. One person I have met has started a blog that I know will help so many people.
Anyway - group hug - lets support both sites as they are both unique and wonderful!
