Starting Over Talk - Peer Coaching Support Site

Did anyone else catch Iyanla appearing as a guest on Meet the Faith. It's a talk show on BET. It aired Sunday between 11:00-11:30. a.m. I only caught about half of the show. Iyanla, the host, and 2 other guest, were discussing the availability of black men as husband material for black women in this country.

I wasn't able to tell if the show was taped recently or not. Does anyone know if she frequents the show often?

It was kinda funny. She told the host that she was so upset with somethings that one of the other guest was saying, that she had to pray silently to herself. Of course, she laughed while she said it.

I've been digging for info... But the BET site isn't very helpful.

I did find a reference of Oprah having been on the show on Mother's day.. but now that I think about it... I'm not sure if it meant this past mother's day...

Maybe someone else can figure out how to navigate the bet site. I went to the link for the show...and only got an overview of the basic show.. no detail..

I'll check my listings, as I would like to see the entire show. One of the guest was advocating black women to give up on finding a college educated back man to marry. He quoted statistics they he says shows that there are not enough to go around. Therefore, black women should turn their attention to white men, that is if they really want to get married.

I can see why Iyanla would have gotten irritated then! I am sure that good men aren't defined solely by having a college education. If women were judged by that definition, I would be an utter failure.. I think some women equate college education with earning power...and for myself.. there are some character qualities that are alot more important!

I think you have to look at the whole of a person.. be they white or black..and not fit people into boxes..


The problem with that website... It doesn't have a good tv schedule or even previews of upcoming shows. I would have liked to see if that show was slated to run again.

You might be able to email them.. I don't recall if they had a contact them feature but they probably did somewhere!
