I respect what Tara and WCW have done so much! The petition and calling NBC HAS made a difference!

Heatherw started this idea & now there is a full blown campaign going - to email Oprah! We're asking the SO fans to email/write Oprah and tell about the huge effort by the viewers to save this show; (petition, calling, press release).

If NBC won't pick it back up it would be a perfect fit for the Oh! Oxygen network that Oprah has partial ownership of.

We're also asking the former House Guests to write her, they could write about how the show personally changed their lives and where they are now because of the show. Even if we could get a few (even a couple) of them to write to her, I think that would be INCREDIBLY effective in spurring Oprah's interest! (She 'll problably consider doing a story on HER show about their journey/experience) especially if she gets that much mail on the topic!

It's not too late, the efforts that have been made ARE impressive, they may not have influenced Bunim Murray but may very well impress Oprah!

I know Oxygen is casting for a new show 'Bad Girls' but it won't replace SO. It's not the same, SO is a show we can really relate to because it's about average everyday women, it's positive and we can learn from and get helped by it, not just another show for entertainment.

Let's get all our previous efforts recognized!

By the way, whoever it is that's saying calling was a joke and the petition is full of illiterate comments probably just was illiterate in their understanding of what they were reading. What a negative way to spend their time criticizing what other people are doing when they don't have another suggestion themselves. At least you did something (a lot) for what you believe in, and rallied so many people with you. Almost 8,000 sigs on the petition is nothing to sneeze at (it only represents a small percentage of all the fans) They obviously need to watch SO! (and get a life) as you so tactfully put it Tara! LoL

I hate to tell you really bad news but I heard from a person who worked with Starting Over Producers and That person will have my head if it got out who it is Starting over is offically canceled in fact that person who told me helped to pack up the offices of the producers. The offices are now vacant and they keys have been turned in


Yes that news has been out for a little while and passed around. We knew that the producers of SO left and their offices were vacant.

That's why we started the campaign to email Oprah. Tony Danza had his last show with NBC and the next day he was on ABC at 10:00 a.m. Same thing with the Dr. Phil show,NBC wouldn't renew him, he had a disagreement with them over money, so CBS picked him up for his new season last year in a different time slot.

The point is, just because NBC/Bunim Murray isn't going to continue producing it, the show can be shopped around, other networks can pick it up and use their producers to continue it.

That is our goal to get the show pitched to Oprah's Oxygen network, and others like Tara suggested!

I have heard from a reliable source with Iyanla's organization that even if Starting Over was picked up for a 4th season that she would not be on it. This is a huge commitment for the life coaches who also have their own organizations to operate. If they aren't willing to continue with the show, will someone really be willing to pick it up?


I bet there are life coaches that would jump through hoops to have the opportunity to do it!

Tony Danza is on Fox here...I think his show is syndicated as well.
(checked his site and looks like the production (Buena Vista is owned by Disney)

I heard his show was being cancelled...

I am sure his show is in reruns right now...
If you check out his more info area of his site... It looks like there is no information beyond the regular season through May.

I was pointing out just a couple of examples in the past of shows that NBC cancelled, but got picked up and continued on other networks to let everyone know not to give up on Starting Over!
