I agree. Selecting a male would put a whole different spin on the show. I doubt that is direction they want to go.

hmmm..... I don't mean to ruffle any feathers, but I just didn't get that energetic vibe with Gayle! I would love for someone to take the seat like Merideth did,and show that certain quirky side,but lovable impact. I don't believe Gayle's talk show went very far. I have nothing against Gayle,but if I had my rathers,well then I still would like Whoopie.

I think it will be difficult to find one person that everyone is wild about. Gayle may not work for some viewers. I also like Whoopie, however, at times I find her too predictiable. I find her too much of a comedian and not enough vulnerable woman. Of course, I still like her.
What I don't like is the idea of a male comedian taking the spot. It's not that I don't like gay men, but, I don't think it is a good fit for The View.
